Ralhum Sports Turns 30: Three Decades of Genuine Sports Gear in Sri Lanka

Ralhum Sports marks 30 years as the official distributor of Gray-Nicolls, Gilbert, Molten and Babolat in Sri Lanka. Here is our story since 1996.

30 years, one mission

In 1996, a company was founded in Colombo with one mission: to bring the world's best sports equipment to Sri Lankan athletes, coaches and clubs. That company was Ralhum Sports.

It started with cricket and grew from there. Ralhum comes from S.M.M. Muhlar & Co, a trading house in Sri Lanka for over 75 years. In 2026, Ralhum Sports celebrates 30 years of bringing global sports brands to Sri Lankan players.

The brands we distribute in Sri Lanka

Ralhum Sports is the official and exclusive distributor in Sri Lanka of these brands:

• Gray-Nicolls: a cricket brand from England whose roots go back to 1855. Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka have both been Gray-Nicolls ambassadors with Ralhum Sports.
• Gilbert: has made rugby balls since 1823 and has been the official ball of every Rugby World Cup since 1995. Its partnership with World Rugby now runs to 2033.
• Molten: a Japanese company, started in Hiroshima in 1958. According to FIBA, Molten balls have been the official game ball at the Olympic Games and FIBA World Cups since 1982.
• Babolat: a French tennis brand, founded in 1875 and based in Lyon. It is credited with making the first natural gut tennis strings.

We also distribute other brands, including Grays hockey sticks. See all our brands.

From cricket to every court and field

Over 30 years, our range has grown to cover the main sports played in Sri Lanka. That can be a Gray-Nicolls bat for a young batter, a Gilbert rugby ball on a school field in Kandy, a Molten basketball in a school tournament, or a Babolat racket at a Colombo tennis club. We supply schools, clubs and associations across the island.
